Kinja "Update" on FP

As usual, I hate it. It's not that much different, but WHAT WAS WRONG WITH THE CURRENT LAYOUT? Why throw all the buttons off to the side? And the notification icon isn't noticeable anymore. Why not keep the blue when we have notifications? Why? WHY? WHY!????!

STOP CHANGING THINGS.

It's definitely gonna take a little getting used to.

I do like that the images and text are zoomed in a little without actually using the zoom on the browser. Makes things easier to read, and easier to see details in the images. So, that's a positive.

Cleaning up the interface a bit isn't a big change.
The new 2-column pull down menu on the left is a needed improvement; the old single column menu would often disappear off the bottom of the screen, and was difficult to navigate.
The only constant is change - this one's a good one.

Yeah I like that, but the notification icon doesn't stand out anymore when you have notifications. It used to be blue when you had notifications, now it's white with a barely noticeable number. And now that those buttons are off to the side, it's a bit more movement. First world problem, yes, but what was wrong with keeping them near the center?

My gripe with the changes usually isn't what they change, it's why they change it. It's like they're bored in the office so they think of something to mess with.

Also of note: Mobile Kinja is much better now. The overall UI didn't change but I haven't "mistakenly tapped" an article I never intended to in the first place since the update. Even when trying to.
